Prototype: The Porsche 911, also known as the 911 for short, is the most famous sports car from Porsche and is the epitome of this brand. The current model series is the 991, which has been in production since 2011.

The first 911 was presented on September 12, 1963, at the IAA in Frankfurt am Main as the successor to the Porsche 356 with the designation Porsche 901. However, three-digit numbers with a zero in the middle were protected as a type designation for Peugeot, so the car was launched on the market in 1964 as the Porsche 911.

The car is a typical 2 + 2-seater with two seats and two jump seats. It is powered by a 6-cylinder boxer engine in the rear of the car. With the rear-engine design, 911 continues a classic design principle that can already be found in earlier Porsche developments, for example, the VW Beetle and the Porsche 356.

The Porsche 911 usually has a rear-wheel-drive (Carrera); vehicles with all-wheel drive (Carrera 4) have also been offered since 1989. The top model since 1974 has been the 911 Turbo equipped with a turbo engine. Since 1995 the 911 GT2, a weight-optimized and performance-enhanced version of the 911 Turbo, has also been produced in a small series.

Kit: The Porsche 911 Turbo appears as a re-edition of Revell / Monogram. The model, which appeared at the end of the eighties, already shone with a decent replica turbo engine and a red-colored rear light unit with Porsche lettering. Even if this is not a “new tool”, a classic is returning to the domestic model garage.

The new kit is delivered in the side-open box known from Revell with a very good car illustration as always. The kit contains about 86 components that are sprayed in red, clear, and chrome. There are also four rubber tires and well-known, very good decals.

The ambitious model builder will not be disappointed, he will still receive a well-detailed Porsche 911 Turbo model with all the features of the chassis (six-cylinder engine, detailed wheel suspensions, brake discs, etc.), the body (rear and front spoilers, Fuchs rims).

Only the tires for the rotating wheels could be a bit better, as the aftermarket supplies replacement accordingly.

Painting: Thanks to the 16-page colored, very clear assembly instructions (with detailed color information), the assembly should not cause any difficulties for both beginners and advanced modelers.

As always, the excellent decals with very detailed details in the cockpit are worth mentioning with this kit, including decals for the engine compartment and eleven different license plates.

Conclusion: Great re-edition of the Porsche 911 Turbo model with a replicated engine, not a curbside model!
