Not even 2 months later, this morning we laid the foundation of Turkey’s largest factory, which will be established with an investment of 250 million liras. Again, we introduced the 50 million lira financing supplement program for the manufacturing industry. We are not in our region with terror, tears and pain; We want it to be remembered with production, technology, and even more so with space and the sky. Because these lands are the lands where science sprouts and illuminates the whole world. ”

“The first steps of cybernetics were taken in Diyarbakır”

In his speech, Al-Jazari

Reminding that valuable personalities who have taken part in science should be told to the young people , Minister Varank brought the following sentences into language:

“As much as we know Leonardo Da Vinci, we need to know Al-Jazari, the son of this civilization that inspired him. Cezeri took the first steps of cybernetics here in Diyarbakır. The sundial in the courtyard of the Ulu Mosque has been working for 800 years. Diyarbakır is the place where the first robot in history was developed. We wanted to remind Turkey of all these riches and to meet with young people who are interested in space and learning in this land with a science and technology heritage. From now on, we will hold a similar activity to the sky observation event we hold in Antalya, together with international participants, at the historical and mysterious Zerzevan Castle.

Stating that he looks forward to observation events every year, Varank said, “We will try to explore the mysterious depths of space by examining the sky throughout the event. More than a thousand young astronomy enthusiasts from all over Turkey and abroad will observe and learn from the experts about the Moon in its last crescent phase, Jupiter, the largest planet of the solar system, Saturn, also known as the ringed planet, and many other celestial bodies. . Honestly, it’s hard not to get excited even while counting their names. ”

Underlining that activities such as are very valuable in raising awareness, especially for young people and their families, Minister Varank shared the following:

“We see young people as our main stakeholder in every policy we pursue. Because we know that; Any project that young people do not accept or support can not reach a result.

If you are running a business, the hero will be the youth first. Instead of telling them what to do and how to do it, you should make them gain that consciousness and experience. That’s why we implemented DENEYAP TECHNOLOGY workshops.

We provide our secondary and high school students with artificial intelligence, robotics, coding, nanotechnology, aviation and space trainings in the workshops here. Here is TEKNOFEST, another precious project we have built with this aim. High school and university-age youth participate in the world’s newest technology races with their own projects.

They race self-developed rockets, electric cars, unmanned aerial vehicles, and submarines. We provide all the financial and technical basis for them to design their projects and then implement them. Thus, on the one hand, we develop the qualified human resources that our country needs, on the other hand, we create a dynamic ecosystem in which young people are the leading roles. ”

Emphasizing that we, as Turkey, have a valuable experience in the field of space, Minister Varank gave the following information:

“With TÜBİTAK UZAY, we are carrying out the IMECE Satellite Project with the aim of meeting the high resolution image requirement of our country and eliminating its dependence on foreign countries.

In the TÜRKSAT 6A Project, where Turkey’s first domestic communication satellite was developed, we completed the design activities and moved on to the production phase. Hopefully, we will make these satellites ready for launch in 2022. Thus, Turkey will be one of the 10 countries that can develop communication satellites with national means.

We want to make the first contact with the Moon on the 100th anniversary of the Republic by successfully completing the Moon Mission, which is the most precious purpose of our National Space Program. At the end of 2023, we aim to land our spacecraft on the Moon with international cooperation, and in 2028 with our national rocket. In this way, we will come to the position of one of the few countries that can carry out scientific activities on the Moon. The design and development work of the unmanned spacecraft that we will send to the Moon is currently ongoing. ”

Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank

Minister Varank stated that the Eastern Anatolia Observatory to be established in Erzurum will have Turkey’s largest optical and first infrared telescope. In order to successfully realize the goals and projects we have determined, we continue to cooperate both at home and abroad. We are aware that all the efforts we have spent in the field of space will return to us with added value in a very wide area. The most precious thing is that space and technology are on the agenda of the youth, we want them to develop themselves in this field.

National Space Program aims to increase the interest and curiosity of young people in space with its vision. Zerzevan International Observation Activity, seminars, races, many workshops and activities related to astronomy are organized. While participation in the event that appeals to all ages is free, security measures are created by taking PCR tests from all participants under the COVID-19 measures.
