Amusing Hobby Announces 1/35 Leopard 2A8 DEU Main Battle Tank
Modern armor enthusiasts have another major release to look forward to, as Amusing Hobby has officially announced an all-new German Bundeswehr variant of Europe’s premier main battle tank: the 1/35 Leopard 2A8 DEU (Kit No. 35A080).
While Amusing Hobby previously touched on the modern Leopard family with their earlier prototype release (35A058), this new kit represents the true production standard German Leopard 2A8. Keen-eyed modelers will notice key external distinctions from export configurations like the Norwegian 2A8NO. Specifically, the German DEU variant features a revised upper turret add-on armor layout in front of the commander and loader hatches, a distinct primary sight dog house cover, and a specific Trophy Active Protection System (APS) sensor array tailored to Bundeswehr specifications.
