The subject – Leopard 2A6 in Ukranian service…
According to Forbes, Ukraine has received a total of twenty-one Leopard 2A6s. Three were donated by Portugal, with the rest coming straight from Germany, where the tank was designed and manufactured.
The Leopard 2A6’s capabilities are on par with, or even surpass, that of the American M1 Abrams family of tanks (in some people’s opinions) for certain tasks and types of battlefield scenarios. In the 1970s, technological advancements and a changing battlefield led to the creation of an improved Leopard tank. The Leopard 2 tank entered service in 1979 with West Germany and a number of European countries. The early Leopard 2 tanks, up to 2A4, differ from the modern counterparts. The turrets of these early Leopard 2 tanks were more squared-off and vertical, as opposed to the 2A5’s asymmetrical, arrow-shaped variants. The Leopard 2A6 is currently used by nations around the world and boasts impressive vehicle statistics.
For the 2A6 model, the German Defense Company Krauss-Maffei Wegmann (KMW) upgraded the armor, armament, and communications. The 2A6 armor is a mix of traditional steel, composite and modular. The tank is protected to the highest level without having its performance compromised by excessive weight. This armor provides the necessary protection for the tank crew in urban warfare, where IEDs and RPGs pose the biggest threats. The most notable difference between the 2A5 and the Rheinmetal smoothbore 120mm/L55 barrels is that the Rheinmetal 120mm/L55 barrel is longer. The gun of the 2A5 is approximately one meter shorter than its predecessor. The tank is more lethal and accurate with this gun. The tank’s built-in stabilisers assist it in moving over rough terrain. Its fire-control system, meanwhile, is among the best and most modern compared to tanks of its class such as M1A2 Abrams or Challenger II. The thermal imaging and panoramic viewing are among the most advanced features that can help identify and acquire targets. Two 7.62mm machines guns and forty-two rounds are carried by the tank. The turret is equipped with one machine gun, which sits coaxially. It has a four-man crew, including a commander, driver, and gunner. The engine is the same as before. The MTU MB-873 Ka-501 turbocharged diesel engine pushes an impressive 1,500hp, giving the tank excellent speed and range–roughly 42mph and 310 miles.
Eighteen countries are currently employing the Leaopard 2A6, with 3,500 total units built and delivered. Recent news about the Leopard 2A6 is due to ongoing conflicts in Ukraine. Ukrainians are concerned about a renewed Russian offensive and believe that heavier armor will be needed. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will have Leopard 2A6 modifications
in their units by spring 2023. These tanks are active in battles that take place in Ukraine’s east and north-east. In combat, the tanks of Ukraine are also marked by crosses in various forms. Leopard 2A6 has proven to be an efficient tool against the enemy tank. In particular, the successful encounter with T-80BVM tanks was recorded. The kit has not yet been released, only its boxart. We do know that there are 291 pieces on 12 sprues, all in gray plastic. This is all we know about this kit so far…These new kits will also be available from ICM in July (22nd)…-1/35 Leopard crew of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

-1/35 Leopard crew of the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Combat units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine operate different types of tanks. The majority of them were
tanks of Soviet design until recently (T-64s, T-72s, T-80s and their variants). In 2023, the first Western combat vehicles entered Ukraine’s tank forces. Leopard 2 tanks in various versions are among the most advanced models. This tank is manned by four people – the tank commander, driver, loader and gunner. The gunners are impressed by the Leopard 2’s excellent optics and speed, while mechanic-drivers praise the tank for its great maneuverability. Tankers constantly improve their skills by undergoing training, and analyzing their combat experiences. Much is dependent on crew cohesion and their ability to act together as one mechanism. The Studebaker US6 was an American series of 6×6 trucks and 6×4 vehicles that were manufactured during World War II by Studebaker Corporation, REO Motor Car Company and the Studebaker Corporation. The trucks could transport loads on any terrain, in any conditions. The following are key facts about the Studebaker US6. In 1941, designs were submitted by Studebaker (a GM subsidiary), Yellow Coach and International Harvester. Total of 219 882 2 1/2 ton 6×6 and 5 ton 6×4 trucks were produced in 13 different variations. Studebaker, the main manufacturer, produced 197,678 vehicles at its South Bend plant in Indiana. REO, under subcontract in Lansing Michigan from 1944 onwards, produced 22204 additional units. Both manufacturers stopped production in 1945. Lend-Lease and Service: The Studebaker was primarily produced for export through Lend-Lease. Soviet Union was the biggest foreign operator. Between July 1942 and April 1943, the Red Army tested eleven US6 truck models. The results led to an increase in payload from 2,300kg to 3,600kg (4 short tons). They could transport up to 5,500 kg on improved roads. Large numbers of Studebaker US6 trucks were supplied to the Soviet Union via the Persian Corridor in Iran under the US’s Lend-Lease program.-1/35 Kfz.70 with MG 34 kit no #35502The infantry transporter Kfz.70 was one variant of the army vehicle Horch 108 Typ 40. The heavy off-road vehicle, produced by Horch as well as the German Ford branch until 1942. Serving as a multifunctional military transport for the Wehrmacht, the vehicle performed a wide range of tasks across various theaters of combat, from France to Stalingrad and from North Africa to Scandinavia. These vehicles were equipped with a variety of armaments including Zwillingssockel36 twin-mount antiaircraft machine gun installation, MG 34, and anti-aircraft guns. Vehicles equipped in such a manner were used for anti-aircraft defense, providing fire support,
patrolling, and escorting transport convoys.

The main burden of the full-scale war that began in February 2022 fell on the Ground Forces of Ukraine. The brigades include motorized and mechanized infantry units, as well as mountain, tank and artillery brigades. The Air Assault Brigade and Marine Infantry Brigades are the ones that take part in combat the most actively, as they often perform missions in difficult terrain. Ukrainian Defense Forces have proven their capability to perform necessary tasks in a dignified manner and are now arguably Europe’s most experienced army with combat training. The Armed Forces of Ukraine rely heavily on small arms and
weapons. Infantry units that are currently in battle heavily rely on weapons made domestically or by the Soviet Union. Among the Ukrainian weapons that are widely used, the “Stugna ” line of antitank missile systems and “Fort ” series pistols stand out. The “Maluk”, also known as the “Vulkan” assault rifle, is used by special forces. Weapons acquired with international assistance are also being used more. In the spring of 1967, in order to combat the Ho Chi Minh offensive, American Command
decided
to deploy B-26K attack aircraft to Southeast Asia. The B-26Ks were stationed northeastern
Thailand because it was geographically close to the likely battle areas. The airbase was located at Thai Nakhon Phanom. In order to stay in Thailand, B-26K Counter Invader aircraft were designated as A26A.attack aircraft, because this country did not officially allow the deployment of bombers on itsterritory. Incorporated aircraft of the 609th Special Operations Squadron. The majority of Counter Invader missions took place at night, due to Vietnamese air defense which was a threat for piston aircraft that had a low speed. In Nakhon Phamom, O-2 Skymaster and B-26K were both based light piston aircraft. Some of them had painted black their fuselages for night flights.
