The Kawasaki Ki-60 fighter was intended to be fast and armed with large-caliber machine guns, it was also designed to climb quickly but paid for it with inadequate range and precision. The development team was led by Takeo Doi and his assistant Shin Owada but received subpar recommendations from test pilots for the first Ki-60 prototype.
