Normally Alpine miniatures provide a resin figure with a choice of two heads for the modeller to change the look or feel of the scene. Taesung Harmms, Alpine Miniatures’ sculptor has come up with a clever idea. The supplied headgear can be used to make each of these figures into an SS tanker or a Heer Tanker. Below is a figure in each light gray resin with one option of headgear…

This week we saw the first photos of this figure in the “raw”, with the pose of this German tanker of mid-late WWII shown with two head choices – the tanker wears a captured French uniform rabbit fur-lined jacket over his roll neck jumper and pants. His Zeiss opticals on his chest are the 6×30’s and he has the

Around his throat and on both headgears this figure is wearing his earphones or “cans” and throat mic for communication. The cans are prominently placed on the tops of servicemen’s cap and push them down. The throat mics are also pinched slightly at the neck just above this figure’s collar…
The Heer panzer commander head choice wears the Panzer Officers Visor or “crusher” cap. The tankers would have worn a beaten-up, flattened look. The M43 cap features the death head and German National Symbol on the peak. He also wears a Bergemutze M-43 cap with a broad and flat brim. I can almost feel the disdain in his eyes. I have seen many companies not giving much expression tot he faces of their figures, but this guy looks a little impatient!

The second figure is also a choice for the modeller. The second figure is also a choice for the modeller. It comes with SS headgear and a head that was taken from SS tanker. The figure is complete, though much will be hidden inside the cupola. The detail on this figure is stunning. You can find him here, wearing the M-43 field cap. You can see him below, with the M43 headgear. The reversible jacket has a lot of folds. While the trousers are lined, thicker and have no wrinkles at all, this man’s jacket’s back is Amazing in this scale people!
