The second volume of the four-book series Booty of War is currently in progress, and is expected to be released in the coming months. This volume will focus on captured armored fighting vehicles (AFVs) in Israeli Defense Force (IDF) service.
The first volume of the Booty of War series, which was released in 2022, covered captured AFVs in Syrian service. The series is written by author and historian Tom Cooper, and is published by Helion & Company.
The IDF has a long history of capturing and using AFVs from its enemies. During the 1948 Arab-Israeli War, the IDF captured a large number of Syrian, Egyptian, and Jordanian tanks and armored cars. These vehicles were used extensively by the IDF in the 1956 Sinai War and the 1967 Six-Day War.
The IDF also captured a large number of Soviet-made AFVs during the Yom Kippur War in 1973. These vehicles were used by the IDF in the 1982 Lebanon War and the 1991 Gulf War.
The second volume of the Booty of War series is sure to be of interest to military historians and enthusiasts alike. It will provide a comprehensive overview of the captured AFVs that have been used by the IDF over the years.
