In 1936, RLM issued requirements for liaison and artillery fire spotting aircraft for the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe. The aircraft should be capable of Short Takeoff And Landing. In 1937, the Fi-156 was put into small-scale series production. The landing gear hangs down when she’s in flight. The aircraft appears to be a long-legged bird with large wings.
