Production of the Jagdpanzer IV, fitted with a PaK42 L/70 7.5cm gun (Sd.Kfz.162/1) began in August 1944. The Jagdpanzer IV (Sd.Kfz.162/1) was eventually produced in over 900 pieces, earning it the nickname of “Guderian’s Duck.” This vehicle used the Panzer IV’s chassis, drivetrain and 7.5cm cannon mounted on a superstructure that was fixed without muzzle brake.
