TBD-1A Devastator

Model: 81784

1/48th scale

The Douglas TBD Devastator was a torpedo bomber of the United States Navy, ordered in 1934, it first flew in 1935 and entered service in 1937. The USN, and perhaps any other navy around the globe at that time, had the most technologically advanced aircraft. The rapid pace of aviation development eventually caught up to it and the TBD had become outdated by the time the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbour. The TBD was a good fighter in early combat, but the Japanese were wiped out in midway. This kit’s colour scheme

The box decals

A test was conducted using skis on the TBD Devastator. The aircraft already performed poorly, and the addition of skis made it even worse.
