The “Camionetta Desertica modello 42 Sahariana”, developed by the Italian Royal Army, is based on chassis and mechanics from the reliable armored vehicle AB 41. The need to have a vehicle that was specifically suited for desert terrain arose during operations in Africa. Sand terrain required specific features not found on existing vehicles. The “Sahariana”, with its large wheels and low profile side, was perfect for quick raids and reconnaissance missions. The vehicle’s range made it ideal for use in long-range missions. This kit contains parts for both the 47/32 and 20mm Solothurn antitank guns.
