The Subject: China’s Type-055 Guided-Missile Destroyer

The Type-055 destroyer is a newly developed, 10,000-ton class fleet air-defence destroyer, designed by China’s 701 Research Institute, and built by Jiangnan Shipyard and Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Company. The first eight Type-055 guided missile destroyers have entered service. Type-055 is equipped with gas turbines that are in a combined gas-and-gas (COGAG), and an universal vertical launch (VLS). Its universal 112-cell VLS creates a highly effective air defense network. The ship also carries a hypersonic ballistic anti-ship missile (YJ-21) capable of hitting enemy vessels outside the range of aircraft carriers. It is capable of performing a wide range of combat missions while providing comprehensive protection for carrier strike groups. The Type-055 destroyer is capable of performing many combat missions and providing protection to carrier strike groups. The new Meng kit:

The 1/700th-scale MENG Kit noPS-009 for the Chinese Type-055 Guided Missile Destroyer. This kit is 257mm in length, 29mm wide, and 64mm tall (without the display base). The kit includes a ship model with an accurate profile. It also features pre-molded parts in different colors and easy assembly. The kit comes with a Z-20 shipborne helicopter. This kit includes a Z-20 ship-borne helicopter (the CAD looks very basic here). The kit includes fine decals, a display base and corresponding metal texture stickers.
