The Subject: The M76 “Otter”
With both tyres and tracks, the M76 “Otter” was an amphibious cargo carrier used by the United States Marine Corps (USMC). Pontiac Motor Division designed and manufactured the M76 “Otter” in the late 40s as a replacement to the M29 Weasel. The CADs and the test-shot build have been provided by Gecko . These add to the CADs we have already seen, and the plastic kit is shown inside and out, looking detailed but not punishing.
The CAD images of the kit include a replica of the box art’s colours – “Cong Killer”…
The plastic photos of the kit
are next, with the test shot build meaning this kit is near for release. The images are inside and outside, except for the driver cab. The rear side of the vehicle shows rubber wheels and tracks (in plastic, here). The prop used for water operations is located between the track. Be prepared! We’ll be able to understand more about things such as the clamps and tool holders, but we should still have a good idea of what they are. The etching is always top-notch at Gecko!
The doors can be opened and closed. Some enterprising people might be able to clamber in and out at a later date with some stylish crew.
We’ll let you know as soon as we have more information.
