Eagle Editions has a special Christmas gift for Luftwaffe fans with the release of their classic Wings Of The Black Cross Series.
Number Sixteen is once again written by Mark Proulx and illustrated with color profiles by James Bentley. Number Sixteen, once again written by Mark Proulx with color profiles created by James Bentley.
From its inception, this series has focused on the study of Jagdwaffe fighter aircraft. The aircraft were flown by highly-skilled fighter pilots and saw extensive operational service across all fronts. The book also includes photos of transports, dive bombers, and bombers. Photos are included of:
* Bf 87
* Bf 262
* Bf 177
* Other aircraft types
The B&W photos were taken from original images. James Bentley uses 8 color profiles to examine selected aircraft in greater detail. This book is 36 pages long and printed on high quality glossy paper. The majority of photos were selected from an extensive collection of private photographs that the author has amassed over many years. Each photo is accompanied by a caption that provides a short analysis. These include color information and historical facts that are worth discussing. Most of the photos in this book are unpublished and are printed for the very first time. A few select contributors have also graciously supplied photos from their private collections.
Additional installments for this series are planned for future releases. In addition, look to future releases of the new companion series, Wings of the Allies.
