Arma Hobby will release several bundles for the Wildcat, as well as PSP airfields and deck bases of aircraft carriers in 1:72.
The USN/RN Escort Aircraft Carrier Deck
Although smaller and lighter armed, escort aircraft carriers played a crucial role during the Second World War on the sea. The universal 1/72nd-scale plastic base reproduces the deck section of any escort carrier used in US WWII by the US Navy and Royal Navies for the Atlantic, Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean and Mediterranean convoys. The PSP Airfield WW2
is also called Marston Mat and is a type of Pierced Steel Planking. It was used as a perforated mat to reinforce airfield surfaces. A universal 1/72-scale plastic base is available for aircraft models that accurately reproduces the surface of an airfield covered in PSP mats (also known as ‘Marston Mats’). It can be used for any type of small American aircraft, and for many aircraft from other Allied Air Forces. We add links to each base that will allow you to print the files on your 3D printer using universal airfield equipment.
70060 Wildcats supported the Allies’ landing in North Africa during Operation Torch, in November 1942. The fuselages and wings of these aircraft were marked with US stars, yellow outline. British planes also wore this marking. The idea was quick recognition, but also to neutralise the resentment of the French towards the British.Pre-order in promotional bundles
