The A7V tank was introduced by Germany during World War I in 1918. In early 1918, 100 chassis were ordered. Ten of them would be converted into fighting vehicles with armored body and the rest as cargo carriers. Later, the number of armored vehicles was increased to twenty. The A7V was the first German tank used in WWI. It was built by Krupp and armed with six 7.92mm Maxim Heavy Machine Guns and one 57mm QF Cannon. It had a crew between 16 and 18 people.
