This is a Tachum plastic model of the “1/350 Italian Navy Horizon Class destroyer D553 Andrea Duollia / Caio Duilio”. The Horizon class destroyer was developed by France in the 1990s as part of the Horizon plan. The plan was originally a collaborative project for British participation, with a collaboration of a common design with an anti-air weapons system. The UK discovered in 1999 that there were differences between the radars and hull designs in Britain, France, and Italy. In 2000, France ordered two (2) Andrea Doria-class destroyers to be built by a joint venture in Italy that was founded with two (2) Fourvan class destroyers. You can assemble either the D553 Andrea Doria, or D554 Caio duilio. You will receive etched parts, clear pieces, and two types of markings.
