Introducing the ATAC Kfir Aggressor F-21/C.2 Camouflage Paint Masks with Numbers and Insignia, designed specifically for 1/32 scale Kfir conversions. This comprehensive set includes four sheets of thin, flexible masking tape, ensuring easy application over curved surfaces without leaving any residue. The semi-transparent nature of the tape allows for precise placement, and when carefully removed after painting, the masks can be reused multiple times.

The IAI Kfir is an Israeli all-weather, supersonic multirole combat aircraft developed in the 1970s. Based on the French Dassault Mirage 5, the Kfir incorporates Israeli avionics and a domestically produced version of the General Electric J79 turbojet engine. Its design was influenced by Israel’s need for a versatile fighter tailored to the region’s specific requirements. The Kfir has proven its effectiveness over the years and continues to serve as an upgraded military platform in various roles.

The Airborne Tactical Advantage Company (ATAC), headquartered in Virginia, USA, provides adversary combat training services worldwide. Established in 1994, ATAC operates a diverse fleet of military aircraft, including the IAI Kfir, Hawker Hunter, Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, Aero L-39, and Dassault Mirage F-1. Their primary base is Naval Air Station Point Mugu in Southern California. This mask set enables modelers to accurately recreate the distinctive camouflage of ATAC’s Kfir aircraft in 1/32 scale. As of the release date, no out-of-the-box Kfir kits are available in this scale; therefore, this set is intended for use with various aftermarket conversion kits.

A Notable Chapter in the Kfir’s History:

In the 1980s, the United States Navy and Marine Corps sought advanced adversary aircraft to enhance their pilot training programs. Recognizing the Kfir’s performance capabilities, they leased 25 Kfir C.1 aircraft from Israel, designating them as F-21A Lions. These aircraft were modified for use as unarmed adversaries in dissimilar air combat training (DACT), providing U.S. pilots with valuable experience against aircraft with performance characteristics similar to potential adversaries. The F-21A Kfirs served with the U.S. Navy’s Fighter Squadron 43 (VF-43) at NAS Oceana, Virginia, and the Marine Fighter Training Squadron 401 (VMFT-401) at MCAS Yuma, Arizona, until they were returned in the late 1980s.

This collaboration not only enhanced U.S. pilot training but also showcased the Kfir’s adaptability and performance on the international stage.
