The heavy tank destroyer Elefant was developed during World War II for the Wehrmacht’s anti-tank units. First production models built on the VK45.01 (P). chassis were originally named “Ferdinand”, in honor of Ferdinand Porsche, the designer. The heavily armored vehicle is equipped with a powerful 88mm gun. They were able to destroy enemy tanks from a distance, and made their debut during the Battle of Kursk – the biggest “clash of tank” in history. The decals included in the kit

However its design was limited in terms of mobility, speed and reliability. This affected it’s performance at Kursk. The Ferdinands still in use at the end of the war were modified and upgraded to meet the new standards, hence the name “Elefant”. Kit parts
Bastogne siege 80 years – BATTLE Set

On the 16th of December 1944, German forces launched an offensive in the Ardennes Forest of Belgium codenamed Wacht am Rhein. The strategic objective was to capture the city of Bastogne which is a vital road junction and a significant logistical centre. These soldiers resisted numerous enemy attacks for days in adverse weather conditions. It is said that the 101st Airborne Division’s “Screaming Eagles”, under General George Smith Patton, resisted numerous enemy assaults for several days. On December 26, the siege was lifted by a counteroffensive from several armoured divisions of the U.S. Third Army, under the command of General George Smith Patton.

The Republic P-47D Thunderbolt undoubtedly holds a significant role in the history of military aviation. The single-seater, low-wing American bomber-fighter is notable for the powerful Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engines that produce over 2,000 horsepower. This engine allowed it to reach remarkable speeds at high altitudes and offer exceptional operational flexibility. The decals included in the kit. The P-47’s robust airframe and eight machine guns of 12.7 mm Browning M2 were a powerful combination. It could also be fitted with rockets or bombs, enhancing its offensive capability. From 1943, the P-47 has been successfully used by the United States in various theatres of operations.
