AFV Modeller has released a variety of upgrades to the 1/16-scale Puma.
1:16 Sd.Kfz.234 Puma Tool & Detail Upgrade set
This 3D-printed set offers a full upgrade to the tools that are stowed. The 3D model is highly accurate and detailed, and comes with the clasps already in place. Set also contains a pair our excellent fire extinguishers, our Bosch headlamps fitted with Puma specific lamp brackets and a replacement Horn. The level of detail is far superior to the kit parts. Both types are stored on racks and are ready for installation. Moving to the turret we have included a new T.Rbl.F3 periscope cover which has details missing from the very simple kit version and we also have a replacement insert for the turret ventilator/extractor. To install this, you’ll need to remove the existing grille from the roof of the turret and then plug in the replacement one. This is a very simple fix that will greatly enhance the appearance of this detail. It also comes with an integral mesh screen. We have also included two new antenna bases in the hull and turret positions.
1:16 Sd.Kfz. 234 Puma Muzzle brake
The Das Werk kit has a missing detail in the muzzle brake part.
1:16 Sd.Kfz. 234 Puma 50mm Ammunition box
This is the Puma 50mm ammo box that can be seen on many vehicles as part of the fender storage. This 3D-printed set includes one ammunition box.
1:16 Sd.Kfz. 234 Puma Eight Wheel Sets
The Das Werk kit tire pattern is the wrong one for the Puma. It was originally issued with tires that were civilian tread patterns. These tires did not hold up to service demands and had to be replaced. This led to the Puma’s characteristic mix of pattern. We know that it is often difficult to determine which tread pattern was used on a particular vehicle due to bad photos, wheels moving or mud. To make things easier for you we’ve selected 3 examples of well-known tread patterns and are offering them as 8 wheel packs to help recreate the examples at a lower cost. We also have these patterns available as spare wheels that are sold individually. We also have these patterns available as spare wheels which are sold individually.
The wheels are printed as a single piece and you simply need to shorten the kit axel parts G25/26 by 2mm to fit the new wheels which are weighted.
16186 1:16 Sd.Kfz. 234 Puma Corrected Turret Hatch set
This 3D-printed set includes both hatches, with all of the missing details and the right scale thickness. These periscopes have been accurately reproduced, with both forward-facing and rearward-facing lenses. (The kit has only forward facing.) Hatch hinges are rendered correctly with spring details. Locking handles, ball-baring races and the soft headpad that’s a Puma hatch feature have been replicated. The periscopes are separate from the hatch and the only thing you need to do is attach the Das Werk Part F17 kit to the outer surface.
Jerrycan Racks 16177 and 16178 Sd.Kfz.234 in 1:16 scale.
Two empty racks to hold the metal-framed jerrycans that are often removed from combat photographs, leaving an empty frame. This rack has been accurately reproduced, with different strap positions to give it a more natural look. It is designed for people who wish to represent cans that are missing. You can mix and match the straps in Set A or Set B to create a unique model. These 3D-printed parts can be delicate, so you should take extra care when removing print supports.
16179 Sd.Kfz.234 Puma Stowed Jerrycan Racks
Set of six 3D-printed stowed Jerrycans. Each one is printed in a single part for an excellent result and minimal effort. Set of 6 cans, including one water can. One can has been mounted upside down to hide the label. Racks and straps have been accurately reproduced, with correct spacing where metal straps pivot.
16176 1:16 Sd.Kfz.234 Puma Smoke Grenades
Set of two smoke grenade racks made from 3D-printed materials for the Sd.Kfz. The 234 Puma Armoured Car. The set contains six of both empty and loaded smoke grenades so that you can model them completely empty, fully loaded or a mix of both.
