Mirage F.1C/C-200 ‘Armee de l’Air’

Mirage F.1C/C-200 'Armee de l'Air'

Special Hobby brings back the popular Mirage F.1C/C.200 in 1:72 scale this month.
The Mirage F.1 was created by Dassault on a private venture. First prototype flew on December 23, 1966. Production machines were used by the Armee de l’Air to train two-seat trainer Mirage F1.B and single-seat jet Mirage F.1C. Some of these machines were upgraded to F.1C 200 standard during service by installing the IFR probe in the nose section. French forces also used Mirage reconversions. The Mirage F.1CR, and Mirage F.1CT were both converted F.1C-200 aircraft. Total 246 Mirages were delivered to the Armee de l’Air in all their versions. The type was also a great export success. In Europe they flew over Spain, Greece, and South America with the Ecuadorian air force. They also flew across Africa and Asia in Gabon and South Africa as well as Libya, Iran and Iraq. The Mirage F.1 was involved in many wars and armed conflicts around the world. They were in combat between Greece and Turkey, hot missions between Ecuador and Peru and in South Africa, they engaged in battles against Cuban aircraft that were flying out of Angola. The parts of our beautifully detailed Mirage F.1C/C200 model are divided into six sprues made from grey styrene and one clear sprue. It has a variety of colour schemes, including a grey-blue upper surface with an aluminium underside. The fourth aircraft is painted in the desert color scheme of Djibouti. Its centre-line fuel tank is adorned with a pair of eyes and a shark mouth.
