Takom Celebrates 10th Anniversary with Tiger I Model with Zimmerit
To celebrate its 10th anniversary, Takom is planning to release the Zimmerit-coated Tiger I Mid along with some additional parts. This is exciting news for Tiger I fans, as it can be difficult to find a Zimmerit-coated Tiger I model.
Zimmerit was a coating used to protect the Tiger I’s armour against magnetic mines. Zimmerit was applied to the Tiger I’s armour as a thick paste and then left to dry. Once dry, the Zimmerit coating created a bumpy surface that prevented magnetic mines from sticking.
In addition to the Zimmerit coating, Takom’s new Tiger I model will come with some additional parts. These additional parts include a metal barrel, metal tracks and photo-etch parts.
Takom’s new Tiger I model is expected to be released in late 2023. The price of the model has not yet been announced, but we expect it to be high.
