The Handley Page Jetstream is a handsome twin-engine turboprop designed for the lucrative US regional market. Jetstream was a promising aircraft, and it showed great promise when an order of 20 aircraft were placed before the design drawings were completed. The USAF placed a large order for the aircraft after it was fitted with the Garrett TPE-331 Turboprop engine. However, this order was later canceled due to the late delivery. Spiralling costs resulted in the bankruptcy of Handley Page, however, production of the Jetstream was taken over by Scottish Aviation and the Jetstream would go on to serve as the RAF’s standard multi-engined pilot trainer for many years and later as an observer trainer with the Royal Navy.Part of the Airfix Classic Kit Range, the 1:72 scale is a smaller scale and is perfect for those models where you want a more simple and faster construction.
