Meng Models 1/35th scale German Kubelwagen Type 82 in North Africa (Pkw.K1 Kubelwagen)

Meng’s kit number. The #VS-015 German Pkw.K1 Kubelwagen type 82 (North Africa), in 1/35th-scale, measures 108mm, 46mm, and 43mm when assembled. The kit comes with quality vinyl soft tyres and three different paint schemes. This kit is called “The Lightning Horse”. The instructions are easy to read and follow (22 steps).

…but they do have some ejector pin marks on the inside of the rear compartment (which is hollow, so this won’t be seen).
The wheels come with full detail on both sides, with bolts and hubs on the outside…

-Additionally, due to different production batches, the horn on early bucket cars was installed below the left rearview mirror, while later models had it moved to the front of the left fender. We have created two different mounting positions to meet the demands of modelers. You can choose either position based on your preference.

This kit includes a folded soft top designed by digital sculpting. The vehicle’s other details are accurate. The model comes with spare jerrycans and their mounting brackets. The racks that hold the jerrycans are made of plastic and do not require photo-etching, which some people find difficult. These parts are crystal clear. Meng provides both light-control covers and transparent covers for the headlights. You can choose to build either version according to your preference.

The Pkw.K1 Typ82 features independent suspension and a rear-wheel drive system, with the front axle being a steering axle. To accurately reproduce the steering mechanism on a model with steerable wheels, we need to use more parts. The assembly will be extremely difficult, and small pieces may even break because of insufficient strength. Meng, having carefully considered the design, decided to abandon it. It features a snap-fit design.
